Where much of your holiday will be enjoyed

This photo was taken in March  - nothing is guaranteed, but Southern Andalucia has the best climate in mainland Europe, enjoying an average of 320 days of sunshine each year.

View of Finca de las Pasas from the North West - this photo and most of those below were taken in January when almond blossom adorns the Iznate Valley trees.

View from the South

Pool with views to the North to the Sierra Tejeda

Pool with view to the North West of the Montes de Malaga and the hilltop village of Comares

The sitting room

Dining area

Entrance hall

The kitchen - brand new and all mod cons

And here's a shot of the front of the finca taken at dusk.  The property is a simple farmhouse but is stylish and well-equipped, offering the highest standards expected by any discerning traveller.

This is a view from the finca in April - when the hillsides are adorned with an abundance of wild flowers

Iznate

Iznate taken from a different angle with its backdrop, the Sierra Tejeda

Hidden amongst Iznate's tiny streets is the XVI century St Gregory's Church, here at night-time

Less than a five minute walk from the finca, the recently opened public tennis court, available for the use of our guests for just 2 Euros per hour - or for the whole afternoon if no-one else comes along - and just look at the back-drop

Typical Andalucian cemetery, this one in the hilltop village of Comares - a must see trip from the finca - although some of the precipitous mountain roads are rather terrifying

Santa Semana festivities in Velez-Malaga - truly amazing!  I have travelled all over the world, but have never seen anything quite as surreal and unnerving as this before.  Good Friday, all night long in Velez-Malaga - a 'must see'.

Paseo los Larios, Torre del Mar

Perhaps a little narcissistic this one, but this is the best photo we have of the promenade at Torre del Mar - gorgeous (shame about the model).  I'm not sure why it is so quiet - it must be siesta time on a weekday in the low season - in the evening and in the high season all of Spanish society seemingly promenades down the prom.

Light refreshments on the prom at Rincon de la Victoria (dusk, August)

Malaga City on Christmas Eve.  Malaga is often thought of only in the context of it being the airport that serves the Costa del Sol - and as a result it is rarely visited by overseas tourists.  However it is the second largest city in Andalucia, birthplace of Pablo Picasso and Antonio Banderas (!), is bidding to become European Capital of Culture in 2016 and is a truly delightful place.  Good shopping, great restaurants, an atmospheric mediaeval quarter, some fabulous churches, a roman ampitheatre, a Moslem Palace, a mediaeval fortress and its own city centre beaches make it great place to visit.  And it's just 20 minutes by car from the finca.

Malaga City in October

Malaga city centre and port - this photo was taken from the terrace of the Parador next to the Gibralfaro - a fabulous place for coffee and cakes

Malaga's Alcazaba - a 12th century Moorish palace

And built to protect the Alcazaba, Malaga's Gibralfaro fortress dominates the landscape above the city

The Alhambra taken from the Generalife gardens - a fabulous daytrip from the finca

The Albaicin district of Granada taken from the Alhambra

And just to whet your appetite, these are the gardens of the Alcazar in the centre of Seville, a simply glorious city.  Seville is a two and a half hour drive from the house (and can also be accessed by train from Malaga City) and is the most sensual of all Spanish cities.
